Create your Line follower Robot

Create your Line follower Robot

Line follower (or Grid follower) is a Autonomous robot, which follows a color line works on microcontroller.

Mechanical Features of a Line Follower RobotJ
Has a zero degree turning radius (can rotate in place). It has near omni-directional movement, minus singularities at maximum servo rotations and the time it takes to turn a wheel. This allows Taurus 2(Line follower=T2) to travel sideways, forwards, straff, and even drive in sinusoidal shapes - yet still face in the same direction. And lastly, it can handle rough terrain.

What is a Microcontroller and uses at Embedded

What is a Microcontroller and uses at Embedded
What is a Microcontroller?
A microcontroller (sometimes abbreviated μC or MCU) is a small computer on a single IC containing a processor core, memory, and programmable input/output peripherals.

:-It is a decision making device used widely in embedded systems and all intelligent devices.

Difference between Microcontroller and Microprocessor
- Microcontroller has I/O ports, Memory, timers etc all integrated on chip itself.
- In Microprocessors, I/O ports, memory, timer etc are to be connected externally.
•Full fledged PC!
•ROM, RAM, Flash, CPU, ALU, on-chip peripherals
•Lower resources
•Separated units
•Higher resources
•MCU – (everything in point 2).

Types of wheels locomotion systems

Types of wheels locomotion systems
Locomotion system stands for the rotation and alignment of the your robot body.
Basically there are five type of wheel locomotion
Differential drive
This is perhaps the most commonly used type of locomotion systems in mobile robots, because it is simple and easy to design as well as implement. This type of structure balances itself on three wheels; two of them are motor driven, while the third one is free.
The free wheel, also called pivot wheel, can be mounted at the front or at the back of the pair of wheels driven by the motors. Practically, the pivot wheel is best mounted at the back, so it acts as a ‘trailing’ wheel and not as a ‘steering’ wheel.

Different type of Motor and their function

Different type of Motor and their function
A motor is a mechanical device which converts electrical energy into mechanical energy. Any robot, which needs to move, must have at least one motor. If you want your robot to move like a car, attach motor with wheels to your robot.
If you want your robot to have a mechanical arm or wrist, put a motor where you want a joint.

basic equipment to create your own bot

Equipment’s, Elements(Components) and Tools of Electronic to create your own Bot
Before starting create your first own bot.
Knowledge of basic Electronic elements, Equipment’s and tools is very important.
Let’s us study one-by-one all basic elements and tools for our bot.
In this post we will study about all Basic Electronic Equipment’s to measure and operate the logics of a bot will help to create your bots
1. Potentiometer
The resistors we have discussed above have constant resistances, which do not vary unless they are heated too much. A potentiometer is also a resistor, but it has variable resistor which can be changed at will by the user. Potentiometer is rated according to a range of resistances which can be achieved by using it, along with its power rating.
A potentiometer is very useful in applications in which you are not sure of the exact value of the resistance you would require. When only the range required is known, a potentiometer is used and then its resistance is varied so as to get desired output from the circuit.

battery is an essiential part of bot

In pervious posts we have studied step by step all about Electronic Components, Equipment’s and tool.
Which are Important in Robotics and will help you to create your own bot.
But without energy or power all these Components and Equipment’s are useless.
In robotic we need basically Battery as a power source.
Battery:-
If you want your robot be to be completely self-operated, and you do not want any wire coming out of the robot even for getting power, you need to provide on board batteries.

Many different types of batteries are available in the market, NiCad or NiMH batteries being most common.

material to build your own bot

In pervious posts we have studied step by step all about Electronic Components, Equipment’s and tool.
Which are Important in Robotics and will help you to create your own bot.
Now the time to study about the material to build (or create) body of your bot.
In this post we will study step by step about commonly used material to made body a robot.
Material to build bot body
To build a robot’s body, we need to select a building material for it. Following are some of the choices available:
1.        Paper
Paper and cardboard are often overlooked as far as choosing the material to make a robot’s body is concerned, but they can prove to be handy as they are easy to work with and give faster results. There are lot of varieties of paper and paper products which can serve as robot body building materials. Moreover, you would find them in your home itself and you won’t have to spend money on them at all.

There are a number of different papers,

New robotic chair to promise mobility for the handicapped

Swiss and Spanish Scientist give a boon to handicapped in the form of New Robotic chair
The recent news that Swiss and Spanish scientists have developed a successful prototype of a mind-controlled wheelchair is yet another indication of broad range of work being done around the planet to develop mobility solutions for the disabled and aged market. Most importantly, the new system adds a critical dimension to the work being done - machine control via the mind. In a system which might best be described as augmented or assisted telepathy, the new system is reported to use electrodes embedded in a skullcap to monitor the brain patterns of the user, interpret them via sophisticated software algorithms, and control the wheelchair via a wireless link.

build a robot that can run using cellphone

No software coding, wiring needed.
Engineering have developed magnetic robot construction kits which enable you to build your own smartphone controlled toy robots that can drive and wiggle.

What is MOSS?

MOSS is a brand new robot construction system from Modular Robotics. It was designed, prototyped and engineered over the last two and a half years. Building with MOSS is incredibly fun and easy thanks to an intuitive, magnetic construction system.

How does MOSS work?

It's easy to snap MOSS modules together to make a static structure, but to make things move and light up, you'll need to understand the color coding system for the individual faces. Keep in mind that production MOSS kits will be different colors from the versions shown here. We'll use these versions for this example, though, since we're surrounded by the pretty colors.
